Fish on the Fence meshes art and science together in a partnership between the Feiro Marine Life Center, the Landing Mall, local schools, and the community. The object is to transform the green chain-link fence around the Landing Mall from your average fence to a place filled with fish and other marine creatures while educating people about marine life. We're aiming for 20,000 fish!
If you would like to get involved and paint your own ceramic fish or tidepool creature stop by Aglazing Art Studio on First St in Port Angeles.
Fundraiser
The 4th annual Fish on the Fence Gala will be on Friday, February 3rd at the Red Lion Hotel on the Port Angeles waterfront at 5:30 PM. It will include hearty appetizers and desserts, live music, art displays, and a silent and live auction. The live auction will feature general auction items and Lincoln High School's art students art work. If you bid on the student art work, you will not go home with the piece but instead fund it for the community, and it will be placed on the green chain-link fence that surrounds the Landing Mall.
This year there will be childcare available for 4 to 8 year olds from 5 PM to 9 PM for guests who register for it ahead of time. Space is limited.
